Capinvest 21’s team took part in the Investment Fair, which was held in Tyumen region for the third time already. In 2017 it became a federal national event that gathered dozens of projects and investors from all over Russia.

In the beginning of this year’s Investment Fair the governor of the Tyumen region Vladimir Yakushev gave a welcoming speech. Vice president of the all-Russian non-governmental organization of small and medium business OPORA RUSSIA Eduard Omarov, managing director of Investment Agency of the Tyumen Region fund Olga Ezikeeva and others also welcomed everyone.

Only 27 projects out of 600 were chosen for onstage presentation. Unfortunately, most of the projects were from real sector of economy. Entrepreneurs sought investments for manufacturing companies, works, factories, fast food restaurants and shops. Only six presentations were of interest to us, the ones that suggested different Internet projects.
The projects that didn’t get the chance to talk onstage had an opportunity to take part in a 5-minutes session with experts. IIDF (Internet Initiatives Development Fund) successfully implemented this practice, when founders present their projects to experts in rounds, fitting their presentation in 5 minutes.

This event turned out to be very helpful and useful, especially for business angels. We found out that most of the first-time entrepreneurs make mistakes in detailed identifying of what kind of issues their product resolves for its users.

Although we didn’t find a project to invest in, we are looking forward to the next year’s Investment Fair!
